Student at University of Wisconsin - Madison
Hi, I'm Aayush. I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin - Madison studying Computer Science, Data Science, and Economics. My academic and career interests have been fueled by a deep interest in technology and its potential to solve real-world problems.
Through my coursework, work experience, and personal projects, I have developed a strong foundation in software engineering, thriving on challenges and enjoying tackling complex problems. I am always looking for opportunities to learn and grow, and I am excited to see where my career takes me.
I am particularly interested in AI, and its practical applications in the real world. My passion for AI has driven me to learn about machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and natural language processing. I am excited to see how AI will continue to transform industries and improve people's lives.
During my time at Barclays so far, I utilized Salesforce Languages such as Apex and SOQL to develop custom Lightning Web Components. These components serve as utilities for the Investment Banking team to display nearby contacts for various clients, leads, and other contacts. Each of the components and Apex controllers were developed with a focus on performance and scalability, and unit tested to ensure reliability.
As a researcher for the UW-Madison's #1 ranked Department of Educational Psychology, I have been fine-tuning large language models to evaluate the accuracy of educational concepts in student essays. I also built software that tests these models using LLM-generated test cases using Django and Next.js, which improves our models through reinforcement learning.
At Calamos, I was tasked with the development and design of a comprehensive tools dashboard, where I designed and engineered 7 full stack applications using Angular, .NET, and SQL, aimed towards monitoring critical business functionalities. I was also responsible for replacing legacy reporting applications on Calamos's proprietary research system.
Madhousing.com was a project initially launched in Spring 2022 by a group of 3 students at UW-Madison, with the goal of helping incoming students to decide which dorm to live at. Since then, Madhousing has accumulated users and page views (Google Analytics API).
We were also featured in 3 prominent Madison publications, including The Cap Times, The Daily Cardinal, and The Badger Herald, along with being featured by The UW-Madison Alumni Network.
Originally developed using EJS templating, we refactored and redesigned our entire codebase in April 2024 using Next.js and React with the help of 3 additional team members. Our goal was to create a more dynamic and user-friendly UI and to give us opportunities to scale up our project in the future.
